Big boys!

We got to see baby on Wednesday and he is doing awesome! They wanted to check the position of my placenta and although it hasn't moved much, it at least moved away from my cervix. I have not met with my Dr. yet but should at the end of the month for more discussion. The baby is measuring 3lb 3oz already! I would say that he is about a week or 2 ahead. The tech said that he is on the bigger side, haha. She  measured his head and at my appointment I was 28w5d and his head measured 30w1d! His femur also measured big, 29w and I think 2d, which is no big deal but we know that he will be big! Baby also listened to me and he is head down! He has flipped in the last week. It was awesome to see him, of course, and we even got to see a front view of his face. He was playing with his toes and just having a good time. Can't wait to meet him!!

We had some snow flurries this morning but we are expecting temperatures in the 60's and only sunshine for the next 8-10 days! I am so excited, this boy will be loose in the backyard!

A mile a minute

These pictures are within a 15 minute time frame..at most

Break is over, check out these hand towels..(which I must pick up 264654x a day...you would think I would stop putting them there!) but he is attempting to put it back up..

And off we went...under the table. This is where he hides when he knows he needs a diaper change or to get dressed...actually, he hides here anytime I need him..even with a bath or we are leaving.

This is where I may have gone wrong. I gave him a cookie, filled with chocolate. Haha, he already had dinner, what is the big deal!?

and here he is in his hiding spot (behind the bench of the dinner table) this is where is takes anything I give him and gets away from the dogs but it doesn't always work.

Can you imagine the rest of my day? Tons of fun though, I promise.
I wouldn't trade it for the world.

This and That

Hmm, where to start! The baby cooking would be good. I had an appointment yesterday (27w3d) and he is measuring right on track, ahead a few days like he has always been. His heart beat was 135bpm and I looked at Brady's book and he had the same heartbeat at 27w1d! I wonder how much they will really be alike! What they aren't doing the same is their position in the belly. Brady was already head down and ready for departure at his appointment and baby is still kicking away at my bladder. He still has plenty of time to switch but hurry up kiddo, we are down to 12 weeks! Nana said he might be just as active as Brady but I am thinking he might be too lazy to flip around (cause you know there is more room the other way!) I also haven't gained as much as I had with Brady at this time, which is always good...but I cannot say that I feel that way.
In Brady news, he is still going a mile a minute. When the girls take his food, he slaps at them...we are working on that. He gets pretty mad and will yell at them too. The only issue is, he loves when Dakota chases him around the house because he has a cracker in his hand...and she will steal it the first chance she gets. He is definitely an instigator!
Bernie is in the field for a few days so Brady is the man of the house. He is doing a good job so far. When I mention Dada, he stops and will look around. I am excited to see how Brady reacts when he sees Bernie on Thursday afternoon...the boy is in love with his Dad, definitely a Daddy's boy.

The weather was perfect this past weekend, in the high 60's and then is disappeared. It rained last night and is back to being 70 today but the high tomorrow will be 47. Ugh! Brady is in shorts today and he keeps looking down at them probably wondering where the other half is. It is so nice to see the sun, I truly miss the sunshine state. It is been overcast for too many weeks here and totally puts a damper on the mood.

T-minus..

Do you see that second ticker to the right?? Not only am I 27 weeks today but we only have 91 days to go!!! I am feeling great and all is well with us.

Baby's lungs and immune system are maturing this week as baby prepares for his grand entrance. If he were born today he would have an 85 percent chance of surviving as his lungs are capable of breathing air (with medical assistance, of course). Other exciting developments:

Baby's done a lot of growing over the past few months. His length has more than doubled in the past 15 weeks! And that's not the only thing growing—baby's brain tissue and neurons are all developing at a rapid pace. His brain waves are now firing away just like those of a newborn baby. If baby is a he, his testes will have completely descended at this point.

Your baby now weighs in at approximately 14½ inches and just over 2 pounds, or about the size of that roast you made last time your in-laws were in town. (OK, the baby is the size of that roast you meant to cook before you decided that ordering Chinese was a much better idea.)

Good Girl!

Brady says 'good girl' (for the dogs) now and it is the cutest thing ever! He will also tell them to 'get down' and swing his arm. I bet it was easy for him to pick up on that because we are always telling the girls to 'get down' from the bed while the 3 of us cuddle and wake up. I assume he swings his arm because we stick out our arm and point to the ground, what a smart kid!

26 weeks!

and only 14 weeks to go...hopefully! Baby boy is kicking up a storm these days and is making the most of any space he has left. We have started getting his room in order. We re arranged the furniture a little but won't be moving the crib in until he is ready for it and I will keep him in the pack n play in our room, in the meantime. No need to rush Brady into a real toddler or twin bed, he is getting much better with going to bed these days and we hope to keep it that way--sleeping solid through the night is another issue! The baby's theme is called Team Safari, which is a jungle theme with sports tied in and is super cute! I unloaded Brady's 0-3 month bin and cannot believe how small the clothes were! I even have some left over diapers that are probably 8-12lbs and they are the size of my hand!

Week 26:
Deep breath! Air sacks are developing in your baby's lungs, which means it just might be possible for your baby to take a breath at the end of this week. The air sacks (technically called alveoli) will continue to grow for the next nine years. The membrane that keeps the alveoli separate from the blood vessels is now thin enough to allow for that oxygen–carbon dioxide exchange we call breathing. Other highlights this week:

The retina completes the development of its normal layers this week—all the better to see you with. Well not you, per se, because her eyes are still sealed shut and it's really dark in there, but your baby's eyes are now fully developed.

Brainwaves for the auditory and visual systems are detectable in baby's noggin this week. That means baby's brain is registering things like sound and light. She can't understand what any of it means yet, but she's on track to comprehend an entire episode of Blue's Clues in no time!

As hearing continues to develop, your baby will start to recognize your voice. One hint that your karaoke rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" is not the best would be when the baby starts banging on your gut. Your bambino will also start to recognize your partner's voice. He may feel silly talking to your stomach, but assure him that somebody other than you is definitely listening. Research has shown that newborns actually recognize familiar sounds after birth. Proof that your baby has been paying attention all along.

Break out the sparkling apple juice—baby has now completed two-thirds of her stay in Hotel Womb. Your baby is about 1 2/3 pounds and is 14 inches long head-to-heel, or about the length of a burp cloth (otherwise known as your primary wardrobe accessory for the next several months).

 Here is the belly at 26 weeks. No comparison this week but I did look at the Brady's book and I think that I am pretty similar in size..I was also 26 weeks pregnant with Brady on our 2nd wedding anniversary!

In Brady news, he is doing fantastic! He was pretty sick for a few days..diarrhea and he threw up once, but has been back to normal for about a week now. We were very close to taking him into the ER because he hadn't produced much of a wet diaper for about 2 days and was turning away foods that he would normally gobble up in a second. He wasn't drinking much either and we had a hard time getting Pedialyte in him but managed to with the liquid dropper used for medicine. He has since been making up for any loss of appetite and liquids though. He is eating everything and eating more foods then he ate before he got sick...eating foods that he wouldn't look twice at! Milk has become his favorite over juice too, which is the opposite.
He is running around like crazy and loves to be chased. His giggles are music to my ears, especially when he gets so excited, he doesn't know what to do with himself. Brady is absolutely in love with Bernie. I didn't expect anything less but he goes nuts when he comes home, cries when he leaves and just wants to be with him anytime he is home...(they are currently cuddling on the couch now...but I am sure one is asleep!) Brady prefers to be in his dad's arms if he is around, easier for me these days :) He has an eye tooth breaking through which puts him at about 15-16 teeth!
He says 'good girl' now and it is the cutest thing in the world. I will be getting it on video one of these days, promise! I have been horrible at taking any pictures of him recently but here he is in his car.
