16 days shy of a year since I last posted.
There has been so much change since my last posting, where do I even begin?
We are no longer living at Fort Bragg anymore and I do miss it terribly. I loved that house that we finally felt so comfortable in and had made it a home. We had great neighbors, the perfect street, great friends, life was great at Bragg. We hosted our first Christmas in that house and little did we know, just after the new year, we would find out that Bernie was to report to Korea in just under 6 weeks. We had about a month to decide whether we would go with him, stay at Bragg or go back home to Florida. The decision would have been simple had his follow on been back to Bragg, but it wasn't.
We said 'goodbye' to our friends and our home and we moved back to Florida within 4 weeks and in another 4 weeks, we would send Bernie off to Korea for a year.
I am happy with our decision to move home and the help from both my parents has been incredible but I do miss the life that I felt like we just had to pick up and leave so quickly. The military lifestyle is where we belong and as tough as it can be, I feel most comfortable there. We had many friends, the boys always had something to do and it was just where we fit in the best. I don't feel it here. Maybe it is because Bernie is not here and he was there, either way, the civilian life is not for me. The best thing about being back home is seeing my parents and enjoying the time we have together. The boys are loving seeing Nana and Papa almost daily, the beach, lizard hunting, the pool and all the popsicles. This is a year that I hope they will always remember.
Bernie is due back to visit in a a few weeks and we cannot wait to spend 23 WHOLE days back with him!! The boys have done really well with the transition and they get to 'see' each other anytime thanks to todays technology. Again, a huge thanks to my parents for helping be a distraction and helping me with watching the boys so I can get a break, aka, run errands :)
Also, our little family of 4 is expanding! We are expecting baby number 3 around Thanksgiving. We are very excited as number 3 has probably already given us a taste of his/her personalilty with making a decision to join us when the timing was just right. We should be finding out what we are having in a few weeks!
Other than that, I have finished my first year of my master's program, things are going well. The boys are so much fun when they are good but they are balls of fire! They need to be busy and are non stop!
More soon :)
