Rainy days.
Since it wanted to rain for 3 days straight, on Saturday we were stuck inside and tried to make the best of it. Bernie had worked the night before so he was sound asleep most of the day. We have been attempted coloring many times but Brady just isn't interested. He will do a little but you have to catch him at the right time. He prefers to eat them or throw them across the room for fun--not kidding. I bought some new crayons that morning and we decided to test them out.
He would rather stack them in some form so I had to show him what they could do. He is definitely right handed and will switch to his right hand when necessary.
He is trying to get it to stand up here..
Yay! Clapping because he did it. (notice that there are still no marks from him on the paper--probably on my table though!)
and somehow that 'coloring' resulted in this. I love that his feet are even crossed.
I am sure we did more exciting activities that day, but that camera didn't stick around as I had planned. Today was the first day we got to see the sun shine and it reached the 60's and you can bet we spent every minute outside. Unfortunately, it is expected to rain the next 3 days again. I plan to take him to a museum downtown tomorrow--depending on how bad it is raining. Let's just hope the baby in my belly doesn't mind tagging along.

35/35!
35 weeks and 35 days to go!
This week the final touches are being added to your mini-masterpiece and most of his development is going to packing on the pounds. While baby's movements may be becoming less jerky, he may do his final somersault in the womb soon—to put himself into the head-down position for birth. Other fascinating facts:
Your little Karate Kid can't quite pack the punch he used to due to the limited space inside the womb these days. You're likely to feel more wiggles, stretches and rolls than kicks and jabs. The extra layer of fat your baby is adding will create those cute dimples on your baby's elbows and knees. His liver has begun processing his waste products, so you know which organ to thank when he has his first blowout up the back of his onesie.
Baby's nails are growing so long they may curl over the tips of his tiny fingers and toes before he sees a pair of clippers. He'll be in serious need of a mani-pedi once he's born (as will you).
Your baby is now about 5½ pounds and over 18 inches long—about the size of one of those price-club sheet cakes.

No news from us this week. We just had an appointment on Monday and baby is fine, still measuring a week behind but still growing. Dr did mention that the 2nd baby may likely be bigger--more than 8lb 8oz...oh my! He has quite the growing to do in the next few weeks. I believe that Brady was always measuring a week or so ahead during my pregnancy. He said that he will keep an eye on it and we should have a better idea in the coming weeks.
Bernie is on his last night of mids tonight, which is working overnight. I hate it. He comes home around 9am and sleeps until about 4, if possible. Has PT at 7 and back at work at 9pm. It has just been Brady and I this week for the most part.
We are having some of the platoon over tomorrow night for the basketball games, which is always a blast--hopefully Brady does awesome like he did last time and sleep through everything.
Bernie will be working the gates starting next week on day shift which starts at like 3am-9am and then PT after. I am not sure which is worse!? Be sure to send him some love...and some tips on naming his son ;)

34 weeks!
Your baby is clocking in at five pounds and could be as tall as 20 inches by now, and the vernix (the white coating protecting your baby’s skin) is getting thicker. This week, a boy's testicles start making their way down from his abdomen to their final destination: his scrotum (look out below!). While about three to four percent of boys are born with undescended testicles, it's nothing to worry about — they usually head downtown before junior turns a year old. In other baby-related developments, those tiny fingernails have probably reached the tips of his fingers by now — and getting ready for that first postpartum manicure.

Fun in the sand
It was beautiful out today, probably reaching almost 80! Of course, after we found our sand we spent the day outside getting dirty. Brady loves the sand and Bernie's new project will be to make a box like this one, sandbox.
Brady also got some Crocs yesterday and he loves them! He wears them everywhere and wants them on right when he wakes up!
He is sporting them with his real 'red sox' socks!

Fresh cut grass!
They finally made their rounds to cutting our grass! It was beyond overdue and I couldn't take another day of it. It was up to Brady's knees and touching the girls stomachs in some parts! We are also the only ones who bothered to put seed down, it is about dead everywhere else. It is so nice to see green grass out back and not dirt!

Not much to say..
It has been quiet the past few days, not too much has been happening. The weather is finally getting warmer and it should be almost 80 for at least 5 days straight! I really hope it sticks around this time.
We had a low key weekend and hung around the house and played out back. Actually, Friday night, Bernie had a few people over from the platoon and they enjoyed themselves some adult beverages with some beer pong and cards. It was fun to be the sober one and feel great the next morning, haha :) Brady went to bed not much longer after they had arrived and was zonked out within 20 minutes, I couldn't believe it. It was loud in the house but he did sleep soundly until about midnight. A few of the ones who were working the road stopped by--I bet my neighbors thought, 'Finally someone called the MP's on them!' Brady just wanted to be held by Daddy and then went back to sleep after everybody left.
Brady got some new backyard toys and we put them to use except they didn't really cut the grass ;) The grass is about up to his knees now but it is finally getting cut tomorrow, so happy!
Unfortunately, these are the only pictures I took because we had company and we were getting ready to grill some lunch. Brady's arms started to get red from the sun and it was also nap time.
Other than that, Baby is doing well and we are moving right along!

33 weeks!
Time is flying! I feel like this baby will make an early debut, nothing crazy but possibly 1-2 weeks. He is very active and has been getting the hiccups a lot lately. Brady also got them and we even have video from home when he was 2-3 days old with the hiccups, so adorable! Baby boy is pretty active at night when has me a bit worried--we were very lucky with Brady and he never stayed awake over night, just ate and went right back to sleep. Hopefully, little brother will follow same routine.
I had an appointment on Monday and all is well. The doctor measures the outside of belly and he is actually measuring a week behind at 31 weeks. It might have been his position or I may be lucky and he won't be as big as Brady was. I believe that he has always measured about a week ahead so we will see when I go back on the 21st where he measures. I am also only up 17lbs which is wonderful! Moving on to what he will be up to this week..
The big news this week is lung development—baby's respiratory system is almost completely mature. That means if your baby was born this week, odds are he'd be a healthy bouncing baby with a just a little help from his friends (aka, the NICU). Some of the specifics are:
Your baby can now detect light and tell the difference between night and day (of course that ability will miraculously disappear once he's born and up all night screaming). His pupils will constrict and dilate in response to light. If you shine a flashlight on your belly, your baby may shy away from the light as if to say, "Cut it out, Ma. You're soooo annoying."
The bones in your baby's skull are soft and are not yet fused together. In other words, now is not the time to teach him how to do a headspin while breakdancing. This pliability allows the bones to overlap; making that trip down the tight birth canal possible (and resulting in that surprising cone head look your baby will sport for the first few days post-birth. Don't worry, it's totally normal and that's what hats are for.)
Your baby will continue to pack on the pounds gaining around ½ pound a week from here on out.
Your baby weighs about 4½ pounds, as much as a grownup duck, and is approximately 17.5 inches long, about the same as a collarbone-length pearl necklace. (Did somebody say push present?)

In Brady news, he is doing awesome as always. He is over his cold and keeping us busy. He really enjoys walking around with us and not being carried or put right into the cart but once you let go of his hand, it is a full on chase!

Both you and baby are putting on some serious weight at this point. You'll probably gain about a pound a week for the next few weeks, with half of that poundage bulking up baby. He'll likely double his weight in the next eight weeks.
Ever wonder what your baby is doing in there these days? He's busy blinking, looking around, grabbing things, making faces, practicing his breathing, peeing and listening to everything around him—pretty much exactly what he'll be doing for the first three months of his life, sans the adoring audience and the flashing camera.
Your baby may (or may not) have a full head of hair now. If she's a baldy, don't worry. You can always buy a Baby Toupee or some adhesive barrettes.
By the end of this week, your baby will weigh about 4 pounds and measure over 17 inches long—about the length of a hot pair of above-the-knee boots. Christian Louboutin? Manolo Blahnik? We're thinking Isaac Mizrahi for Target—you've got a nursery to furnish!

Catching up
Let's attempt to catch you up due to my lack of blogging.
Brady being Brady with his books! This is what I often find him doing when he has been quiet for too long..
New storage for his toys in the living room. A week later, he has figured out how to take off the bins and everything is everywhere!
Helping Daddy put together his new picnic table.
Finger paint...complete fail! :( We will be trying it again in the near future though, just haven't had a minute to do so.
Then Momma got sick. Made a trip to L&D for dehydration. I was having contractions and I could have ended up with a baby far too soon had I not gone in. Brady also threw up twice the same morning, luckily he had no other issues and was back to himself in no time.
Nana came to help out..Brady missed her!
Lounging around..
Warm temperatures and back yard fun. It was beautiful and this was also the day that Nana got sick...very much like what I had. Brady laid in the grass for quite some time and enjoyed feeding Roxy grass and mulch..
and my little man turned 18 months!! We had to get some cake to celebrate, which he loved!
He has his check up on the 28th and it was pure hell. He cried/screamed non stop from the second they measured his head until we walked out the door. He weighed in at 27.5lbs and 33 1/4 inches. He also got 2 shots to top of the trip.
Last night, he was real fidgety in his crib and Bernie went to grab him to bring him into our bed and mentioned that he sounded stuffy. I hate when he is right--Brady had a head cold now and we are dealing with that. It was a long night and a long day and is currently still awake but laying down. I hope we catch a break soon!
