Asheboro Zoo

Earlier this week, we made a trip to the Asheboro Zoo, which is the NC state zoo. The zoo is huge and it is divided up into North America and Africa and covers a 5 mile walking path. It was a perfect day for walking, which is exactly what we did. The majority of the animals were sleeping in the back of their exhibit area and in each one there was only one animal. We were not very impressed with the zoo :(
It was about a 2 hr drive and we found out that the giraffe deck closes at 2 (we finally arrived around noon)..so we had to book it over to Africa. We caught the tram over and here are the boys enjoying the ride..

The giraffes weren't up by the deck so unfortunately, we didn't get to see them up close and personal like we had at the Brevard County zoo back home. Either way, Brady was very excited!

We saw the elephants on the ride into Africa and didn't want to walk 'backwards' to that area since they were far away and the lion was snoozing in the back of his cage.
I forgot what these are called but the exhibit referenced 'Madagascar' because this is King Julian!
Brady hitched a ride from Daddy and loved it!
I believe this is the grizzly bear..check out those claws!
Brady loved the otters, they are actually really neat to watch!
He is trying so hard to stay awake..but he is watching the otters.
Polar Bear
That sums up the zoo besides some fish, turtles, alligators, snakes and an owl.
It was a great day though and it was our first official outing as four :)
