Brady is officially getting some everyday and cannot get enough!
About a week or so before his 4 month appointment, I tried solids and he simply didn't understand what he was supposed to do. The only reason why I tried it before 4 months was because our pediatrician thought it was necessary to start him at 2 months due to his weight but I knew that it wasn't necessary because he wasn't eating more than 30oz nor was he even able to hold his head up on his own!! At his 4 month appointment she never even mentioned eating solids and says he is as healthy as they come!
Once he hit 4 months, something clicked and he knew exactly what to do with solids! I didn't follow the normal one fruit/veggie a week and tested a new one each couple of days. Brady wasn't a big fan of any of the flavors besides green beans--he makes faces with everything!
I knew of many other moms who make their own baby food but had no idea where to start or what to even do...little did I know how easy it was!!
I have made sweet potatoes and applesauce so far, but hope to make bananas in the next few days and possibly carrots and green beans tonight. Brady goes nuts over his food now!! He gets so excited and talks when he is eating and cannot stop smiling/laughing. I have read that the jar food is so bland and makes the transition into real food sometimes difficult, which is probably why he likes the homemade because of the true flavors. I also switched him from eating out of the Bumbo and into his bouncy seat which makes a huge difference. We are right at eye level and he seems more comfortable sitting. The other awesome thing about making your own food is you can freeze it and it is so much cheaper!! Besides that fact that you know what is exactly in it!
I will leave you some pictures of Brady eating...very messy!!

4 months!
Brady had his 4 month appointment on 12/28 and these are his latest stats!
Height: 26 1/4 inches
Weight: 17lb 10oz
He falls somewhere between the 90th-95th percentile for both!
Based on these numbers he should be in Carter's 9 month clothes! Are you kidding me?!?! We are wearing 6 months and have been since about 3 months. Brady can wear 6 month clothes but he is getting too long for some of them..this boy is going to be tall!!
Look what we have been practicing!!!

Feet!!!
We found them!!! I am so excited! On December 30, I was putting his pj's on and when I turned to pull them out of the drawer and looked back this is what I saw!!
They are so much fun! As we all know, after the pj's it is bed time... except after about 10 min of Brady in his crib babbling away, this is what I walked into..

Sleep?! No way, not with these things!! Off to the playmat we went for about 15 min and than he was worn out!
The last few days Brady hasn't paid much attention to his feet though. Every once in a while he will see that they are there when he kicks up his legs but his fists still do the job!
Past due!
I really wanted to start a blog when I first became pregnant but never took the time to actually do it. Well, here I am..making things happen. I will be posting that year in review blog ...hopefully sometime today but for now I will leave you with a little..or a lot, about our bunch.
Our Story:
My hubbs and I have actually known each other since 6th grade and we 'went out' in 8th grade..if that is even what kids call it these days. We ended up at different high schools but did run into each other a few times. He joined the Army and went off to Germany for the next few years while I stayed back in our hometown working and going to college. Fast forward to New Year's Eve 2005 and we ran into each other at the mall. Actually, this is what really happened.
I was walking toward the exit and passed the store he was in (Champs, where else?!) and saw him but thought there was no way he would remember me so I kept on walking. I was outside and I heard someone yelling my name. Yep, it was him and we chatted for a little as he told me he was heading back to Germany and then for his deployment to Iraq in the next few days. I am sure we were already MySpace friends and as he was due to come home for his R&R, he sent me a message letting me know the dates and that we should hang out. My response was in his favor and I will also note that he loves to mention that I said to hang out 'on more than one occasion'. Little did we know, that was true to say the least and the rest is history!
I had no idea what I was getting into for the next 8-9 months of his deployment but it was worth it and built our relationship to handle anything. We got engaged shortly after he returned in Jan 07 and got married the following year in May 08 and life has been bliss! Our baby boy was born August 26, 2009 and we could not be happier!
Oh yeah, our girls...Dakota and Roxy.
After 2 days of waiting to publish this because I was hoping to put the pictures from my old computer onto my new one (Santa brought me a brand new one!!) I still haven't done it and with so much happening we must move on!

Are spoiled rotten! But they are such good girls! They are both rescues and were not planned but I think that is the best way to get them. Roxy is almost 3 and Dakota is almost 10 (both in March)...Roxy definitely keeps Dakota young and they are very close but Dakota keeps Roxy in her place!
