Brady, a big brother?!
So, apparently this is the type of post a lot of the girls do during their pregnancy on their blogs. It is done weekly and since my week starts on a Saturday, I cannot guarantee a post then but they will be up on Mondays, enjoy :)
and since I never posted about me being pregnant, I AM PREGNANT! :) We are expecting towards the end of April.
How far along? 8 weeks 2 days
Total weight gain/loss: Neither, everything is remaining stable.
How big is baby? The size of a raspberry! And this is pulled from a website---This week, your little tadpole is starting to look a little bit more human. Other exciting developments include:
Your baby's eyelids, ears, upper lip and the tip of his soon-to-be adorable button nose are forming.
Junior will also sprout webbed fingers and toes this week—which you'll be well aware of in a few months, as baby starts early gymnastics classes inside you.
Baby's tiny heart has separated into four distinct chambers and is really ticking now—at a rate of 150 beats per minute. That's more than twice your resting heart rate (even when Brad Pitt is on the screen).
Your baby is now a little more than ½ inch long, about the size of the rock in Eva Longoria's engagement ring, and is about as heavy as the check Tony Parker wrote to pay for it.
Maternity clothes? Not yet, but I do remember how much more comfortable they are than regular clothes.
Sleep: The past few nights, minimal. Brady is doing a good job reminding me of what is it like with a newborn.
Best moment this week: Another week closer to the 2nd tri!
Movement: None, too tiny but I am sure the bean is doing somersaults.
Food cravings: None, just ALWAYS starving!
Gender: Don't know yet but we have a bet going on, what do you think?!
Labor Signs: Nope
How are you feeling? Not too nauseous anymore. I will be absolutely starving and after 2 bites, I cannot imagine eating anymore. Completely different this time around!
What I am looking forward to: Fall weather and taking Brady to the corn maze and pumpkin patches.
What I miss: A cold beer..it is football season!
Weekly Wisdom: Keep drinking water and always have snacks on hand!
Milestones: Hopefully an ultrasound at my next appointment on Sept 28!

Lazy bums, we are!
We had a very nice relaxing weekend. It was probably the first weekend that we didn't really go anywhere since we have been here. Unfortunately, I do not remember what we did Friday night so I am sure it is not that important but on Saturday, I bet you can guess what we did. That's right, college football and MICHIGAN! Thankfully they won, Bernie was in a good mood, haha :) Joe and his 2 boys came over and we had a little cook out and hung out for a bit. It was gloomy all day and we got some good rain too.
That night Brady woke up a few times crying (before midnight) so I took him into bed with me. He tossed and turned constantly and would wake up crying. When I would hold him, he would push off and he was just a mad little boy. He finally fell asleep but still did it throughout the night. He woke up at 3 am and was sweating and I knew he was getting sick. Poor kid was all stuffy in just a matter of hours, he was perfect before bedtime. He hasn't had a fever but he has runny nose and his sneezes are not so pleasant. On Sunday, we literally did nothing the entire day. Brady took about a 2 hour nap and I squeezed one in there too but we just watched football all day. We finally got up and had to get out and I needed to get Brady some medicine (which by the way, nobody has anything for babies! Everything is do not use under 4, even at Babies R Us!). So we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for some dinner and some life. Brady inhaled his chicken and flirted with the waitresses.
In other news, Bernie is officially done with his classes and has earned himself his Associates Degree!! I am very proud of him as this last semester was very challenging with the move and the transition back to Army life. What is next? Well, I would love to get back to UCF to finish my degree (I only have 2 internship semesters) so I am hoping that after his year here at Bragg he will be able to complete his Green and Gold packet and attend UCF as well. I don't think he is thrilled about that but I would end up losing my endorsements for teaching.

Labor Day weekend
We have had a pretty busy weekend and today we plan to relax and enjoy time with all the kiddos (Brady and pups) :). Bernie got a 4 day weekend which is always awesome. He keeps telling me I better enjoy them while they last...not looking forward to shift work! On Friday, we ran some errands and bought some fall decorations and decided to eat lunch out at Chili's.We have been trying to find a pair of shoes for Brady but dang, they are expensive! I would rather my boy run around barefoot than in a pair of $30 shoes that he will wear for a month. Brady is between at 5 1/2 and a size 6 right now, which is think is super big for his age!
On Saturday, we took Brady to his first birthday party. I met a girl on Facebook before we moved to Bragg and she has a little boy who was born on Sept 2, named Blaton. I for sure thought these boys were the same size based on her pictures but I was wrong! Blaton is much smaller and has been walking since he was 9 months old. It was so cute to see him walking around. He was very much a pro at getting around and was not off balance at all. Blaton is a very relaxed baby too, he will just sit in your lap outside. Brady was a little tough to handle, we stayed inside most of the time since the ground wasn't good for him to be walking/crawling on. They did play a little and we plan to get them back together again. There were some other babies there too, actually another one year old boy but everybody did their own thing.
On Sunday, we headed to the PX for two simple items. Just two. A holder for the hose on the fence and some weed and feed. Besides those two things, we also left with a new set of clippers. Yep, Brady got his first true haircut! He did not like the noise so I just had to trim the back with scissors and he looks sooo much better. I did love his long hair but it was getting to long for a boy and now he looks all grownup and handsome. Clean cut boy! The commissary happened to be having a case lot sale and that was where everything went bad. They had such awesome prices that we could not turn it down! After we filled our car with cereal, diapers, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, drinks, bottled waters, canned veggies for the dogs and who knows what else...we grabbed some more stuff from inside. The bill was $89!! It would have definitely been at least $150 off post!
We went over to another friends house, a guy that Bernie works with and we cooked some burgers and hung out for a bit. They have a little girl who just turned 2 and an 8 month old little boy. Brady played well with the Sydney, pushing the grocery cart around and he loved their fish tank which had TWO turtles inside! He was obsessed but I was sure to tell him that he will not be getting one of his own! I was happy to see Brady play with the grocery cart because I wanted to get him one for his birthday so bad. I wanted to get the fake food and everything but never did, so we will definitely be making the purchase soon!
That was our weekend. We just got back from walking to Dunkin Donuts and the boys are relaxing (Brady is sleeping). Bernie asked if we could just be lazy today--I am sure I will find something to do! Hope everybody had a good weekend too. I am on the laptop so there are no pictures this time around.

Walking
This is the first 'official' video of Brady walking on August 25, 2010. We came home from a bike ride and he all of a sudden decided that he was ready to walk.

Brady weighed in at 27lb 6oz and 31 3/4 inches!! He is in the 95th percentile for both!
